ANNOUNCEMENTS

Americans for the Arts …Public Arts organizations continue to increase their staff and funding.  Most grants go into the Public Arts and into such areas as Health & Art; Education & Art.

Kids for Peace…Gayle Gale’s collaborative living arts mural program is now a special project of the Dalai Lama Foundation, www.dalailamafoundation.org .  Founded in 1995 the mural program provides a global perspective through the creation of visual art. Kids for Peace strives to reflect a more universal society through distinct contributions found in every culture, worldwide.  Gayle Gale founded the program in collaboration with the Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity, www.jewishcreativity.org .  Awarded the 2001 Fete d’Escellence.

Art Scene…”Mildred Kouzel’s collage paintings deal with cookie cutters malls and housing developments of Monopoly-like game board homes.  Her critique of the social fracturing of the urban landscape makes its point with a sense of wry humor that somehow elicits both smiles and shakes of the head.”
